The Identity of Henry Perkins
There have been rumors that Henry Clay Perkins' father was Henry Perkins. Research shows that a Henry Perkins lived in Lawrence Co. KY for some years in the 1830's, until about 1850. It appears that he operated a tavern in Louisa. Perhaps he also went to Morgan County, KY. There is more research that needs to be done in that direction. [MP]

I am descended through Aggy's son, Isaac, and his first wife, Louisa. This line continues to confound me. Aggy is a complete mystery, in my eyes...1) How did she manage to literally just appear out of nowhere? 2) How did she have the courage and knowledge to settle in a new town, without a husband ? 3) Was she super independent, or was she desperate? 4) How did the new neighbors deal with her and her passel of illegitimate children? 5) Who paid her "Bastardy Bonds?" They were paid in Lawrence County, KY for decades after her kids were born.

DeleteI am descended through Aggy's son Milton. I have been fascinated with Aggy and her life. I have the impression of someone who was very strong and independent. As a single mom to three myself, it is no easy task. She had to take care of a farm plus raise children. I would love to find out more of her life. The missing pieces.
DeleteMy name is Robert Perkins i am a great grandson of Isaac Perkins I would like to write a book about Aggy and her life. Trying to put some pieces together. What a woman to do what she done.
